Acquia Cloud IDE allows you to use composer to make code updates, and run drupal, has a debugger and VS code installed, and allows you to test out changes on a live Drupal site running in the IDE.
Sometimes when debugging you want to check the log files, and unless you catch the one line detail in https://docs.acquia.com/ide/resources/#apache-web-server-resources you may miss that the Apache and PHP log files are accessible in folders that you can switch to in a terminal window.
In our Cloud IDE environments.
Apache logs are in the Apache log directory:
PHP logs are in the PHP log directory:
When you are using Cloud IDE, those directories are accessible to the user acount that you are using in the Cloud IDE.
- Open a terminal window
- Switch to the directory with cd , as in this example:
If you'd like to make changes to the Cloud IDE, you can change Apache configuration with the process outlined here https://docs.acquia.com/ide/resources/#altering-apache-configuration - just keep in mind that when your code is running on Acquia Cloud - it will be using the Apache configuration supported by Acquia as part of our managed service. We restrict the changes that can be made to Apache configuration, as a part of our controls that help our teams maintain application security and reliability. See our documentation about Security and Compliance page for additional information.
