On Tuesday, 1 February 2022, Acquia will be removing the Uptime feature from all Acquia-hosted Cloud Platform and Site Factory applications.
Acquia includes a complimentary New Relic with Synthetics Lite subscription with every Cloud Platform Professional, Cloud Platform Enterprise, and Site Factory subscription. You can use Synthetics Monitoring to activate and customize uptime monitoring criteria and alerts, with more flexibility and granularity than the Cloud Platform’s Uptime feature. Synthetics Lite has numerous key features, including:
- Support for multi-sites
- Can ping specific pages of your application
- Can pings from specific region(s).
We strongly recommend customers transition to Synthetics Monitoring as soon as possible after appropriate testing.
Acquia Cloud Platform, Acquia Site Factory, and Acquia Cloud Next customers can claim their New Relic subscription through the Cloud User Interface (UI). Configuration of Synthetics Monitoring can then be performed in New Relic.
Q: Is there any action required on my part?
All applications currently configured to use the Uptime feature must have alerts configured in Synthetics Monitoring by Tuesday, 1 February 2022 to continue monitoring uptime. We recommend that you configure Synthetics monitoring on your production environment prior to 1 February 2022 so that you can familiarize yourself and test the functionality prior to the Uptime feature's EOL date.
As of today, Synthetics Monitoring is currently available via your complimentary New Relic subscription for all Cloud Platform Professional, Cloud Platform Enterprise, Acquia Site Factory, and Acquia Cloud Next applications.
Q: How would Acquia recommend I proceed with transitioning to Synthetics Monitoring?
We have detailed instructions for transitioning to Synthetics Monitoring in our Docs, “Configuring performance monitoring tools”. You can also find more information in our video, “Enabling Uptime Monitoring & Notifications with New Relic Synthetics”.
For more information on Synthetics Monitoring, please refer to the New Relic website.
Q: Will there be any downtime for my non-production environments or production application?
We do not anticipate any downtime as a result of transitioning to New Relic Synthetics Monitoring.
Q: Are there any known compatibility issues with Drupal 7.x, Drupal 8.x, or Drupal 9.x?
At this time, there are no known compatibility issues. Synthetics Monitoring should work regardless of which version of Drupal your application is using.

Q: Are there other major software upgrades on Acquia Cloud coming soon?
We are committed to maintaining the security and stability of the Acquia Cloud platform. To do so, we are consistently removing software that has reached end-of-life and adding new features on an ongoing basis. We work to provide as much lead time as possible whenever this happens, in order to ensure your application runs smoothly while these upgrades and retirement efforts are underway. For more information on other upcoming retirements, please see our Software End-of-Life Schedule.
Q: I have some additional questions and concerns. Who can I contact?
