When trying to use the `composer1 update` command, it's not completing and getting failed silently saying "Killed".
The IDE memory limit is 4GB, that's for the whole container so not all of it might be available for Composer1. We have more information on what Cloud IDE has for resources here: https://docs.acquia.com/ide/resources/.
Currently composer1 command is set to run with an unlimited memory limit so it will use all of the memory it can. When `composer1 update` runs on your application, it exhausts all available memory.
Checking further we found that Composer2 uses less memory so it could definitely help: https://www.drupaleasy.com/blogs/ultimike/2020/07/composer-20-alpha2-performance-comparison-speed-and-memory
So we'd recommend you to update your project to work with composer 2 and then use the `composer update` command (not `composer1 update` as that uses Composer 1) on the IDE. Some packages and dependencies might not work immediately with Composer 2 but there are some docs around the update process here: https://getcomposer.org/upgrade/UPGRADE-2.0.md
This happens generally for larger applications, as Composer 1 uses more memory and thus because of memory limitation in IDE, the command fails.
