What are the benefits of upgrading?
Acquia Personalization 4 (formerly Acquia Lift) includes a number of great new features including:
- Guided step-by-step personalization creation to create campaigns quickly and easily.
- A/B testing and targeting with no code to eliminate reliance on developer resources.
- Campaign based scheduling to align go-live dates for personalizations to announcements, promotions, and events.
- Calendar view to see what personalizations are running and when.
- Point and click slot creation to create and launch campaigns faster than ever.
- Streamlined A/B testing allowing for testing across entire page experience.
Are there any changes to keep in mind before upgrading?
If you are currently running multilingual support natively through Drupal, please work with Support to upgrade to Personalization 4.
Can I run Personalization 4 and Personalization 3 at the same time?
No, best practice is to run one version of Personalization.
Can an application be reverted or downgraded back to Personalization 3?
Until Friday, 20 September 2021, you can revert back to Personalization 3 for testing and data conversion to Personalization 4. You will need to work with Acquia’s Support team to revert versions.
Do you have to upgrade to Personalization 4?
Personalization 3 is no longer receiving feature updates and will be removed from the Acquia platform on 10 September 2021. We encourage customers to upgrade now, at their convenience, to begin taking advantage of the new features and not wait for the end-of-life date for Personalization 3.

Yes, the end of life for Personalization 3 will be Friday, 10 September 2021, so please plan to upgrade to Personalization 4 well before that date.
