Instead of managing credentials for the local site generated by Dev Desktop, you can instead use Drush to create a password reset link on demand in order to log in.
Go to your site's local configuration screen in Dev Desktop, copy the "Local site" path, then click the "Terminal window" icon:
Type the following command in the popup terminal window, replacing the path with the local site URL you copied above.
drush uli --uri=http://eecronen.dev.dd:8083/
If the command doesn't automatically open a new tab in your default browser, copy the link and paste it into the browser of your choice. The command will log you in as an admin user with UID=1 (User ID 1 aka the first account).
Now that you have admin access to the local site, you can change the password or continue to simply use
drush uli to log in.
